Recognizing the Body of Christ

Theology and Disability Symposium 2019

Recognize the Body of Christ

The National Catholic Partnership on Disability believes that one of the best ways to authentically implement the U.S. Bishop's Pastoral Statement on Persons with Disabilities is to explore the Church's rich teachings about the human being and about ecclesiology. NCPD collaborated with the Institute for Human Ecology at The Catholic University of America to co-sponsor Recognizing the Body of Christ: A Theological Engagement on Disability. This symposium educated theologians, seminarians, university students, and leaders in ministry to think about the meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in the Church in light of the Catholic intellectual tradition.
