A Father's Love

Tue, 06/22/2021 - 2:00pm EDT to 2:30pm

James Arkell is the proud father of 4 beautiful children and husband to Sarah.  He is the Chief Operating Officer of Loretto Holdings a company that specializes in real estate development as well as owning a minor league hockey team the Kansas City Mavericks.  James is also on the board of his family foundation which focuses on charitable contributions that strengthen the family, children with special needs, as well as Catholic Schools.   He works with local and national organizations to promote and benefit the quality of life for people with disabilities as well as the prolife movement.

James and Sarah’s 4th child Michael was born 7 weeks prematurely and has a rare genetic condition.  Michael is partially blind, non-verbal, and has low muscle tone so he is unable to walk.  Their family was already very prolife but the gift of Michael launched them into a whole new world of gratitude, fear, and love.  Their journey as parents of a special needs child has been one of amazing growth and self-realization.  The addition of Michael to their family forced them to focus on what really matters and that is spending time together and loving one another.  Michael may not have ever spoken a word but he’s touched the lives of everyone who’s ever been fortunate enough to meet him.
