Affiliate Connect October 2024: Pastoral Accompaniment for Persons with Chronic Pain and Illness and Their Caregivers

Wed, 10/16/2024 - 2:00pm EDT to 3:00pm

We meet with NCPD Affiliates every month to address the specific needs of their dioceses. This month's Affiliate Connect will discuss:

"Seeing the Unseen: Effective Pastoral Accompaniment for Persons with Chronic Pain and Illness and Their Caregivers"

Chronic illness and pain affect more than half of all adults in our parish communities, yet most of these ongoing conditions, such as heart disease, cancer, autoimmune illnesses, and various forms of dementia, are "invisible." This can create misunderstanding in the body of Christ about the presence of suffering and the need to provide intentional accompaniment for those carrying the burdens of illness and pain, as well as their caregiving families.  This webinar will introduce the NCPD community to The Peace in the Storm Project, a national ministry of accompaniment for parishes that wish to provide spiritually and theologically sound resources to effectively support those living with chronic pain and illness and their caregivers, thus welcoming them into the fullness of the life of the Church.

Diocesan Directors will receive an email on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 with a link to register.
