Affiliate Connect November: Accompanying Persons with Disabilities in a Synodal Church

Wed, 11/20/2024 - 2:00pm EST to 3:00pm

We meet with NCPD Affiliates every month to address the specific needs of their dioceses. This month's Affiliate Connect will discuss:

"Accompanying Persons with Disabilities in a Synodal Church: A proposed Program for Parish Formation"

This webinar will introduce the program, One Body in Christ together: Accompanying Persons with Disabilities in a Synodal Church. It brings Catholic social tradition into conversation with evidence-based research in the social and empirical sciences to promote appreciation of persons with disabilities (PwD) as integral members of the Body of Christ and empower faith communities to support their meaningful participation and foster a true sense of belonging. Importantly, it is designed to address the persistent friction that has impeded progress in this area, the source of the rupture between the tenets of our faith and the lived experiences of so many PwD. Concrete examples will be shared.

Diocesan Directors of Affiliate Dioceses will receive an email on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 with a link to register.
