The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life (CCC 1324)." For this reason, it is important that parishes make participating in the celebration of the Eucharist as easy as possible for people with gluten or alcohol intolerance. When a person receives communion and grows in holiness, they are not only benefitting themselves, they are benefitting the Church as a whole.

Persons who require low-gluten hosts or mustum are strongly encouraged to self-advocate. Call the parish office or arrive to Mass a little early and talk to a hospitality minister.
