This amicus brief, filed in Curran v. Governor of Delaware, addresses Delaware’s End of Life Options Act and its implications for persons with disabilities, the elderly, the seriously ill, and other vulnerable populations. The brief argues that physician-assisted suicide undermines the fundamental right to life, weakens legal protections for vulnerable persons, and raises serious concerns about medical ethics, disability discrimination, and due process. NCPD joined other medical, religious, ethical, and legal organizations in support of compassionate care that protects human dignity and opposes assisted suicide.
