Inclusion in Action: Adapting Safe Environment Training for Adults with Developmental Disabilities

How can dioceses ensure that safe environment education is accessible to everyone called to serve? This presentation highlights the Disability Services and Ministries team’s approach to adapting and facilitating safe environment trainings for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Using a case-study format, the team will share practical facilitation strategies, accommodations, and support methods that promote accessibility while preserving the curriculum’s core goals of safeguarding, prevention, and shared responsibility in creating safe, welcoming communities.

All diocesan leaders welcome!
