Affiliate Connect - November

We meet with NCPD Affiliates every month to address the specific needs of their dioceses. This month's Affiliate Connect will discuss 

Advocacy for a Professional Interest Section on IDD Services within Catholic Charities USA  

Fr. Dennis Weber, Director of Mission Identity and Integration for the Developmental Program Division of CSS and Sr. Kathleen Schipani, Director of the Office for Persons with Disabilities within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will facilitate the conversation. They will give some background and current updates related to residential and other IDD programming within Catholic Charities and the effort to advocate for a professional interest section within CCUSA.  

Diocesan Directors will receive an email on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 with a link to register.

Sr. Kathleen Schipani

Sr. Kathleen Schipani

Sister Kathleen Schipani, a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is the Director of the Office for Persons with Disabilities and the Deaf Apostolate of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Sister Kathleen has a Masters in Special Education and has served as a teacher, catechist, Special Education Administrator and has ministered within the Catholic Deaf Community as the Director of Religious Education and a pastoral worker.

Fr. Dennis Weber

Fr. Dennis Weber, a member of the Servants of Charity, has ministered within the disability’s community as a pastoral and sacramental minister as well as administrator for the past 32 years. He has served as the administrator for Cardinal Krol Center, and Don Guanella School—facilities for persons with intellectual disabilities. A Villanova University alumnus, Father Dennis Weber is currently the Director of Mission Identity and Integration for the Developmental Programs Division of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. He is the priest and friend of both residents and staff within the Communities of Don Guanella and Divine Providence.
