Kathy White

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Parent Advocate

I am a free-lance photographer, covering events throughout the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. I teach Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and I immerse myself in learning about the FASD world. As a photographer, I was humbled to help with the award-winning film documentary, www.thefasdproject.org. It was this project which set the dream into motion: about building a network of support for FASD families in Kansas. After growing a non-profit, I have since transitioned to connecting with professionals across the nation and advocating for those with neurodiversity. I have gained the support of our Federal Kansas Legislators igniting a contagious excitement among FASD Advocates across the nation. I have completed the first part of neurodiversity training focusing on FASD and am continuing to become a certified training facilitator of this neurobehavioral model. I believe in a strengths-based approach. Given reasonable and appropriate supports, those with neurodiversity can and will thrive.
