Why become a Friend? Who can be Friends?
Individuals and groups become Friends of NCPD because they believe in NCPD's mission to ensure participation of Catholics with disabilities in all aspects of the Church and society. Becoming a Friend is a direct act to support those who benefit from the programs and continuing presence of NCPD in its leadership roles of educating, training and advocacy. We welcome support from a range of individuals and groups.
Through the generous support of the Friends of NCPD, Catholics with disabilities receive a wide variety of help that facilitates the belonging that is rightfully theirs as members of the Church, the family that all are adopted into through Baptism. Through NCPD, Friends accomplish a wide variety of services including sacramental preparation for children with autism, access to the lectern for people in wheelchairs, training of people who will in turn present workshops in their region, delivery of large print sacramentaries to priests with low vision. See stories below of how Catholics with disabilities are aided.
