Pioneer disability leader Reverend Bob Wagner passes away. Father Robert F. Wagner, the founder and long-time director of the Bureau for Exceptional Children and Adults, commonly known as Jericho , passed away at his residence on December 2 at the age of 72. For reflections on his life-long ministry, visit NCPD’s web site at the following link: http://www.ncpd.org/BobWagnerPassesAway.htm Update from our Gulf Coast colleagues. NCPD recently received an e-mail from Paula D’Albor-Stuckart, who hosted our Summer Institute in New Orleans in June of last year. Paula writes that she is working part-time at a parish over one hour from her house. She and her husband are still in the process of rebuilding their house, and hope to have electricity restored soon. She is able to check her e-mail when she visits her father in Baton Rouge . She also shared the following reflections: “The gift of all this for me is the greater dependence on God—trust and faith…So many people are hurting so badly here, not just financially, but emotionally. I met an elderly lady in a washateria this week who had never been to one before this and had lost everything, and was on the point of breakdown.” In December we finally were able to locate and speak with Lynnette Bartley, who also assisted in Summer Institute preparations. She and her mother, grandmother, and fiancé Eric are safe and living in Texas . Please remember to keep all of them in your prayers as they continue to rebuild their lives. Donations to the Hurricane Katrina Relief fund are still gratefully accepted. To make a donation, visit https://www.catholicfs.org/donation/archnola/ or call 1-661-869-1000.
